successful implantation

Success in implant

Therapy is said to have happened when the result is lasting and permanent. Unfortunately, often in dentistry successes must say temporary, because the artifacts that are implanted are subject to wear. It must not be forgotten that the oral cavity is subjected to strong mechanical stress, such as to make extremely sensitive area. For these reasons we must add the peri-implant hard physiological bone resorption.

For all these and other reasons we might say that in '85% of cases we can talk about successful installations in 10 years. With constant research, the success rates continue to increase.

After a few years after surgery, some patients needing minor surgery, corrective bone grafting, in order to compensate for the physiological bone loss that occurs around natural teeth as well as around titanium implants.

When we speak of periimplantitis we refer specifically to inflammation and infection of the peri-implant tissues, which can occur at any time and can cause damage in the bone surrounding the implant. Responsible for this disease are various strains of bacteria and fungi that normally harbored in the human oral cavity. Antibiotic therapy and the specific use of LASER around the lesion can block the infection and reverse it.

To prevent any type of postoperative complication is advisable to carry out regular monitoring visits, recommended by a doctor every six months. The dentist will check on these occasions the patient's oral hygiene and especially the state of the prosthetic structures. The oral hygiene and plaque control are primarily   important for the prevention of processes of bone destruction in the peri-implant hard. The patient should therefore fully familiar with the techniques of oral hygiene recommended in case of implianti. And 'this depends very largely the success or failure of therapy.
